Hand Appliqué  two session class: Monday, March 10, 10am-2pm &
     Class fee: $45 (includes book)  Monday, March 17, 10am-2pm 
Jane will take you through the steps of needle turn - appliqué.  Using patterns from the book "Sweet Inspirations" by Pam Manning, we will complete some of the cute folk-art style blocks. Bring scraps from home and supplement with more from the shop for 10% off. If more than one person is interested in an evening class, leave your name at the shop and Jane will try and schedule one.

Flower Patch Tote Bag  Tuesday, March 11, 11am-1pm  Class fee: $15
Great use of charm pack or scraps.   Learn how to make Prairie Points. Come in and see the cute store sample.

Beginning Machine Quilting  Saturday, March 15, 11am-2pm  or
                 Tuesday, March 18, 6pm-9pm. Class fee: $40
This class will take you through the basics of quilting on your own sewing machine. If possible, it is necessary to have your own machine for this class, with a walking foot and darning or "hopping" foot. We will prepare a quilt sample and experiment with straight line and in the ditch quilting as well as the basics of free motion quilting.
Supplies you will need to bring: medium to large safety pins or quilting safety pins, thread in the color you wish to quilt your own top, and your machine with the feet mentioned above.

 

Beginning Piecing/Quilting    Class fee: $65 (includes book)
Daytime: 11am-2pm   March 19, 26,     April 2, 9, 16, 30
Evenings: 6pm-9pm    March, 20, 27     April 3, 10, 17, 24 
Are you interested in learning how to make a quilt top: This is our ongoing beginner class using the Alex Anderson Beginning Quiltmaking book.  Class will cover rotary cutting, piecing, pressing, measuring, color choice, adding borders, squaring blocks, and finished quilts. Come in and sign up and choose your fabrics with the help of one of our staff. We will use sewing machines provided by the store. Purchase of your own rotary cutter and ruler is preferred.  A 10% discount for all of your supplies and fabric for the class.

Party Time - It's Hip to Strip - Jelly Roll Quilt
Tuesday, March 25, 6pm-9pm  Class fee: $35 (includes pattern & pizza)
Just not quite sure what to do with a jelly roll?  Join us for a fast, fun, and attractive quilt that you can have done in no time. No worrying over fabric selection, just buy one jelly roll and border fabric and you'll have a lap quilt in no time.

Have you been collecting t-shirts in the hopes of making a quilt?  What are you waiting for? Let's get started! Learn the basics to make these into a keepsake quilt.

Punchneedle Embroidery    Class fee: $25 (includes kit)
Saturday, March 29 12pm-2pm or Saturday, April 12, 10am-12pm
Punchneedle embroidery has been around for a while now, but some of us are still hesitating to try it - how could anything so small be easy?  It is and Kathy Haberman will show you just how easy it can be.  The kit includes all you need except a 6" embroider hoop and a 1 or 3 strand punch needle.  We will give you a 10% discount on supplies purchased for the class.

Tuesday, April 1, 6-9:00pm or Saturday, April 5, 11am-2:00pm
This class will take you through the beginning steps of paper piecing.  It is a great
and accurate way to create complicated looking quilts. The heart pattern for this simple project will be provided. Check out the sample on the website.

In The Pinks Baby Quilt  Class fee: $25 (includes pattern)
Baby on the way? Get started on this wonderful quick quilt with lots of visual texture running across the surface.  Check out the sample on the website.

Need a project to take along on trips? This is it! Learn how to make these Grandmother Flower Garden Hexagons. It's addictive - fun to do and small enough to take along anywhere. Lots of samples at the shop to inspire you.

Hopscotch Double 4 Patch  Class fee: $30 (includes book "Fat Quarter Five by Heather Mulder Peterson)  Tuesday, April 29, 11-2:00pm
So many fats-so little time. A double 4 patch block makes for a dramatic, cascading chain. It's simple to put together and shows off a variety of fun prints. Stay and sew till we close! Check out the sample on the website.
